The Lottie Thornton Early Childhood Center at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Preschool Teacher position. The Preschool Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing a program to teach young children.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for planning and implementing a program to teach young children.

Ensure the development and safety of these children in accordance with the Mississippi Department of Health Child Care Licensure Division, Jackson State University policies,and the Antie Thornton Early Childhood Center Handbook.

Be respectful of children, parents, and other employees.

Ensure that equipment and the facility is clean, safe, and well maintained.

Attends conferences and workshops that pertain to teacher preparation, implementation, and other areas of professional development.

Obtain 15 contact hours during each licensure year.
