YOUR TASKS

  • You will perform research as part of the EOS project “Promising Research on Integrable Models and Applications” (PRIMA). This EOS project is in collaboration with researchers from KU Leuven and UCL (Louvain-la- Neuve). For UGent, the supervisors are Joris Van der Jeugt (PI) and Hendrik De Bie.
  • You will investigate relations between representation theory (of Lie algebras and Lie superalgebras), special functions, quadratic algebras (such as the Bannai-Ito algebra) and symmetry algebras of certain operators (such as Dirac or Dirac-Dunkl operators).
  • You will work together with other PhD students and senior researchers involved in the project.
  • You will report and present your research in top-tier international journals and conferences.
  • WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a thesis-based doctorate, preferably in the domain of Mathematics or Physics.
  • You have experience with research in integrable systems and exactly solvable models in mathematical physics.
  • You are familiar with algebraic or combinatorial methods in mathematical physics, or with the domain of orthogonal polynomials and special functions.
  • You are fluent in English and have excellent writing skills.
  • WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period of one year.
  • Your contract will start on 1/09/2021 at the earliest.
  • Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master's degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate). Click here for more information about our salary scales.
