We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the team at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. The Research Group is interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms of tumour suppression, with an aim of developing new strategies that can be used for the diagnosis of or therapeutic intervention against human cancer.

Reporting to Professor Xin, you will work on determining the influence of environmental and genetic perturbations on colonic stem cell plasticity and colorectal cancer tumourigenesis. You will use a wide range of molecular and cellular biology techniques, including confocal microscopy and you will collaborate in the preparation of scientific reports and journal articles and occasionally present papers and posters. You will operate laboratory equipment used for all aspects of cell/molecular biology/biochemistry, and supervise, advise and train junior staff in cell/molecular biology/biochemistry techniques and protocols.

It is essential that you hold a PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in a relevant discipline and have experience in using standard molecular and cellular biology techniques. Expertise in Single-cell RNA sequencing and bioinformatics for single-cell RNA sequencing analysis (R, Seurat, Bioconductor) is essential and you will have an excellent communication skill, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online and you will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application. Your supporting statement must explain how you meet each of the selection criteria for the post using examples of your skills and experience.
