The Division of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology is looking for a Postdoctoral researcher (80-100%)

The Division of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology (Prof. Dr. phil. Stefanie Schmidt; www. kpkj.psy.unibe.ch) of the University of Bern is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of mental disorders in children and adolescents. The overall research topics include early detection and intervention; effects of social media on mental health and development; application of digital tools in psychotherapy; personalized psychotherapy through the identification of mechanisms of change and dynamic modeling of change processes; and investigation of developmental peculiarities in diagnostics and psychotherapy.

Tasks

The successful applicant will complement the team by own research interests and activities in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. Tasks of this position include:

  • Planning and conducting independent research in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology incl. applying for third-party funding
  • Publishing research in scientific journals and presentation at national and international conferences, possibly an international research stay
  • Supervision of Bachelor- and Master-students, and possibly PhD-students
  • Teaching activities (max. 2 hours per semester)
  • Contribution to self-administration
  • Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology or a related discipline
  • PhD in Clinical Psychology, preferably with specialization in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology
  • Excellent research within the context of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology including active research and publication activities
  • Very good methodological skills
  • Team-oriented, highly committed, and independent working style
