We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join the group of Professor Tao Dong based in the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Oxford Institute (COI), Nuffield Department of Medicine. This study will be led by Professor Tao Dong and Professor Graham Ogg and will focus on investigating CD8+ T cells in lung cancer using spatial and single-cell multi-omics platforms, flow cytometry, and in vitro functional assays.

You will be responsible for optimising T cell engineering platforms and developing innovative TCR based T cell therapeutics. You will manage your own academic research and administrative activities that involves small scale project management, to coordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will use initiative in the planning of research, conduct and plan own scientific work with appropriate supervision. You will collaborate in the preparation of scientific reports, act as a source of information and provide advice to other members of the groups. Additionally, you will contribute to manuscripts, provide written and oral reports and works as a part of the team.

To be successful in this role, it is essential that hold a PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in immunology or a related field together with an experience culturing and performing in vitro assays with CD8+ T cells, and generating in vitro CD8+ T cell models to deorphanize novel TCRs. You will have experience with processing primary tissue samples for ex vivo and in vitro assays. You will be able to manage your own academic research and associated activities and have previous experience of contributing to publications/presentations and team working skills, including collaboration with others.
