Essential Job Duties
The Life Engineering Lab at NC State invites applications for a newly-created post-doctoral research position in our bacteriophage engineering program. This position will contribute to several ongoing projects in the areas of microbial engineering and phage ecology. Our goal is to adapt breakthrough technologies, such as CRISPR DNA editing, to plant pathosystems.
We are looking for someone who is motivated and able to work independently. This position will be responsible for coordinating with group members both on and off campus so excellent communication skills are a must.
The position has avaliable funding for a period of one (1) year with the possiblity of extention up to four (4) years contingent on continuging funding.
The Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology is an interdisciplinary department. The Department is ideally situated to address complex and emerging issues in plant production with a three-fold mission of education, research, and extension.
Other Work/Responsibilities
Opportunities for student training and grant preparation. Occasional field work may be required. Other duties as assigned.
