The Faculty of Economics, Cambridge University has two Postdoctoral Research
Fellowships available for candidates working in Macroeconomics who have
recently been awarded a doctoral degree or expect to receive their degree by
September 2022. The fellowships run from September 2022 to end of August 2023,
with an option for an early start in June 2022.
The Fellowships will contribute to the activity of the Centre for
Macroeconomics (CFM). The activities of the CFM cover a broad scope of
research topics in macro, including, but not limited to, The United Kingdom as
a medium-sized open economy in a globalized world; The interaction of
inequality and macroeconomic dynamics; Technology and the labor market;
Development and the world income distribution; Fiscal policy tradeoffs between
redistribution and managing high debt; The future of central banks; A micro-
to-macro approach to the study of production networks and firms and markets
dynamics; New methodologies.
The fellowship will be based at the Faculty of Economics, and benefit from
interactions with Faculty members (https:// www. econ.cam.ac.uk) and the
thriving research and postdoctoral community at Janeway Institute at Cambridge
(https: // www. janeway.econ.cam.ac.uk/).
Successful candidates should demonstrate an ability to develop their own
research ideas and also work as part of the strong networks research group in
Cambridge, including the activity carried out by the Janeway Institute. It is
expected that successful candidates' work will be at the cutting edge of the
research frontier with a view to future publications in world leading
Successful candidates who have not yet received their PhD by September 2022
will be employed on University Grade 5 for Research Assistants starting at
£27,116 to £31,406 per annum and once awarded their PhD the salary will be
upgraded to Grade 7 for Research Associates (Fellowships), starting at
£33,309 to £40,927 per annum. Fellows would also have the possibility of
joining a college.
