About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to
undertake team-based research in a high achieving, multidisciplinary and
collaboration focused environment at the Institute for Social Science
Research, while developing expertise and an emerging research profile. At this
level it is expected that the incumbent will also contribute to service and
engagement roles and activities.
Participate in applications for competitive research funding to support
projects and activities.
Undertake mixed method research projects within large multidisciplinary
Project manage small projects.
Contribute to progressing towards transfer of knowledge, technology and
practices to research end users through translation, including
commercialisation of UQ intellectual property.
Produce quality research outputs consistent with discipline norms by
publishing or exhibiting in high quality outlets or publishing non
traditional research outputs that have high impact.
Develop a coherent research program and an emerging research profile.
Contribute to the development and delivery of methods courses, if the
Supervision and Researcher Development
Contribute to the effective supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by
Research students (as appropriate).
Demonstrate personal effectiveness in supervision and the management of

providing feedback, coaching, and professional development.
As appropriate, manage research support staff effectively throughout the
employee lifecycle in accordance with University policy and procedures.

Completion or near completion of a PhD in a relevant field of social
science or a cognate discipline with a component of quantitative and
qualitative data analysis and data management (e.g., sociology,

Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research
Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals, presenting at
conferences, and non-traditional research outputs that are of high quality
Experience managing and/or conducting high quality research projects,
including project management, data collection, data management, data
analysis, and reporting.
Experience in developing and delivering methods courses.
Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions
towards external activities.
What We Can Offer
This is a part-time (60%), fixed term position through until 2 November 2025
at Academic Level A.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $72,144 - $96,530
plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $84,408 -
$112,940 per annum.
