Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Postdoctoral Research Associate in Nucleic Acid Chemistry to work under the supervision of Professor Tom Brown for a period of up to 32 months (until 30/09/2025) on the TransNAT project: Transforming delivery, safety and efficacy of nucleic acid therapeutics: from intracellular uptake to targeting brain and muscle. The project involves the synthesis of chemically modified oligonucleotides for therapeutic applications with the intention of improving delivery and targeting to specific cells and organs.
Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry or a related area, (or be close to completion) prior to taking up your appointment. The research requires experience in Nucleic Acid Chemistry or a relevant area of synthetic chemistry/chemical biology. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry Research Laboratory, South Parks Road, Oxford and is available as soon as possible.
