Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Layered Double Hydroxide-based materials to work under the supervision of Professor Dermot O'Hare for a period of up to 12 months. The role will involve the design and synthesise new layer double hydroxide-based materials and related hybrid materials. The project will be in collaboration with Professor James Kwan (Eng Sci); the project forms part of SCG Chemicals strategic objectives under the CO2 utilisation theme.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry, or a related subject area prior to taking up the appointment. The research requires expertise in the design and synthesis of Layer Double Hydroxide-based materials and in the acoustic setups for CO2 sonolysis and in a wide variety of electrochemical techniques.
You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry Research Laboratory, 12 Mansfield Road, Oxford OX1 3TA and is available immediately.
