Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Single
Molecule Imaging of Chromatin Replication.
This post is available for up to 3 years in the first instance.
In this project, the Postdoctoral Research Assistant will investigate the
molecular mechanisms of chromatin replication using single-molecule imaging,
biochemical and biophysical approaches. The project aims to uncover how
specific epigenetic marks and histone variants affect nucleosome dynamics
during DNA replication. Please see the Job Description for further details of
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the
project and project planning in consultation with the PI and other members of
the group. You will be expected to communicate your research at internal and
external meetings and to collaborate in the preparation of scientific papers
Applicants should possess (or be close to obtaining) a PhD in Biophysics,
Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related field. The research requires
experience in the production of recombinant proteins and a range of
biochemical and biophysical approaches to study proteins and their

Previous experience in the field of protein-DNA interactions or single-
molecule imaging will be an advantage.
The post holder will have the opportunity to teach. This may include small
group teaching and tutoring of undergraduate and graduate students.
