Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Fluid Dynamics

We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Fluid Dynamics Laboratory at the Department of Engineering Science (Central Oxford). The post is funded by a CBET-EPSRC grant and is fixed term to 31 March 2023, with the possibility of an extension if further funds are approved.
You will oversee the development of experiments within the topic of drop deposition, impact and splashing, focusing on aspects of dynamic wetting and asymmetric instabilities.
You should possess or be close to completion of a PhD/DPhil in physics, engineering, or applied mathematics/computing. You should have expertise in (a) the design, construction, and execution of experiments related to drop impact and splashing, (b) in visual imaging and quantitative analysis via image processing, and (c) able to suggest ideas for future directions and projects. Excellent communication skills are essential as is a strong publication record.
