Offer Description

The Fellowship (approximately EUR 2100 net per month) implies carrying out the activities briefly mentioned below under the supervision of Prof. Neri Nicola, within the research programme “Experiment for DIPOle moments of short- lived heavy fermions at LHC”, financed by the Italian Ministry for Research:

1. The activity of WP1 is devoted to the detailed simulation of the experiment, the optimization of the experimental layout, and the development of the event reconstruction software; 2. Set up a full simulation of the experiment. A detailed simulation of the p.o.p. experiment will be developed. The detector geometry will be described using the DD4HEP toolkit 28, which can be interfaced to the Geant4 software to perform simulations of the detector and the passage of particles through matter; 3. Optimization of the experimental layout. The tracking system is key for the test, providing measurements of charged particle momenta and an efficient trigger; 4. Development of event reconstruction software. Algorithms for the determination of charged particle trajectories, momentum measurement, and decay vertex reconstruction will be developed, using the information from the pixel layers of the tracking stations.
