Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow for the NJ Center for Gun Violence Research Center – Urban-Global Public Health within the School of Public Health. The NJ Center on Gun Violence Research at Rutgers seeks to create safe and healthy environments for NJ residents to live, learn, work, and play by providing high-quality, multi- disciplinary research on gun violence causality and prevention and translate this research into clear and actionable policies and programs
The Center is looking for a Post-Doctoral Fellow to assist with the development, implementation and analysis of gun violence-related projects. The Fellow will conduct research in the area of gun violence and suicide prevention under the direction of Center leadership, and keep abreast of current theoretical and experimental literature related to gun violence from various disciplines. Under the guidance of center leadership, collects, records and analyzes data, prepares reports for peer-reviewed scientific publications and conference presentations, and contributes to the writing of IRB applications and grants.
These fellowships are focused on scientific training and career development in pursuit of the highest caliber research to promote safety and improve the health of populations. Fellows receive senior mentorship and close peer collaboration in a rich scientific environment with faculty and other fellows. Fellows will be expected to become proficient in the preparation of peer- reviewed research publications and scientific grant writing and will be strongly encouraged to conceive and lead their own grant submissions in preparation for entry into the job market.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
