    Roles & Responsibilities:

    Post-doctoral Fellow in Environmental Health and Biostatistics

    Employment type: Full time, 2 year with possibility to extend Starting date: Fall 2021 Location: 17 E 102nd Street, New York, NY

    The Department of Environmental Medicine and Public Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai seeks a highly motivated and talented post-doctoral research fellow with interests in environmental health, bioinformatics and applied biostatistics. The candidate will join a growing team that develops and applies novel statistical methods in large prospective studies, with specific attention to cardiovascular health, and “omics” technologies. This position fits a candidate with strong quantitative background seeking experience at the intersection of data science and environmental health. The Department offers opportunities for career advancement, including support for grant applications funding career independence and ability to attend workshops and both national and international conferences. This position offers a substantial compensation package, a tailored benefits package and generous paid time off. Fellows will be offered subsidized housing in Manhattan.

    Duties and responsibilities may include: • Carry out large-scale statistical analyses • Apply novel statistical approaches and machine learning methods • Collaborate with scientists with different background • Writing scientific manuscripts • Participate in weekly meetings with supervisors (Drs. Lesseur and Elena Colicino)

    Requirements:

    Minimum qualifications: • PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics, or related fields • Good analytical and bioinformatics skills • Ability to work on concurrent projects • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines • Strong work ethic
