About the positionThe Department of Teacher Education is announcing a full-time position as post-doctoral fellow. The appointment is for a term of 2 years. This is a fixed-term position with the primary objective of qualifying for work in top academic posts. The position represents an excellent opportunity for an individual to develop his/her career and to contribute to the further development of the field.
The position is linked to the research project International Comparative Research on Vocational Education and Training connected to the research group Inequality, Welfare and Organization, led by Associate Professor Eli Smeplass.
The project focuses on generating ground-breaking research on the Norwegian Vocational Education and Training (VET) system in comparison to other countries' training models. We seek a post-doctor who has good qualifications in methodology as well as theoretical knowledge related to educational systems in a comparative perspective. Relevant thematic areas are welfare and integration, organization, social relations and market mechanisms.
Duties of the positionThe appointment is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants and national guidelines for appointment as PhD, post doctor and research assistant
Preferred selection criteriaIn the evaluation of which candidate is best qualified, emphasis will be placed on education, experience, motivation for the position and personal suitability, in terms of the qualification requirements specified in the advertisement.
We offerAs a Postdoctoral Fellow (code 1352) you are normally paid from gross NOK 553 500 per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. From the salary, 2% is deducted as a contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
The period of employment is 2 years.
The engagement is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants, and the acts relating to Control of the Export of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology. Candidates who by assessment of the application and attachment are seen to conflict with the criteria in the latter law will be prohibited from recruitment to NTNU. After the appointment you must assume that there may be changes in the area of work.
It is a prerequisite that you can be present at and accessible to the institution on a daily basis.
