The Department of Materials and Environmental Chemistry is one of the biggest
departments at the Faculty of Natural Sciences with about 160 employees. The
teaching focuses on analytical chemistry and sustainable chemistry. The main
research areas are developing and understanding synthesis, process and
production, as well as the use of structural and functional materials with
applications in energy, environment and health.
The position will be associated with the project “Design of chemical reagents
for fast and sensitive detection of pesticides in water and food” funded by
Stockholm University Centre for Circular and Sustainable Systems (SUCCeSS)
and is carried out collaboratively between Department of materials and
Environmental Chemistry and Department of Organic Chemistry.
The position involves research on the in-silico design of reagents for the
derivatization of glyphosate. A successful candidate will be setting up the
in-silico design algorithms in collaboration with the research group of Assoc.
The position also involves evaluation of the in-silico generated structures
followed by the synthesis of the most promising candidates. The synthesized
compounds will be evaluated for their sensitivity in LC/ESI/MS analysis and
compared with commercial reagents. Active participation in SUCCeSS network is

degree from another country.
The degree must have been completed at latest before the employment decision

The position involves full-time employment for a minimum of two years and a
maximum of three years, with the possibility of extension under special
circumstances. Start date 2022-11-01 or as per agreement.
