The CSU Department of Physics maintains a tradition of excellence in research and teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Department postdoctoral research associates participate in international research with programs in many of the most active and exciting areas of physics.

The HEP group at Colorado State University has leading roles on the Fermilab Short-Baseline Neutrino (SBN) program, and the DUNE (Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment) and NOvA long-baseline neutrino experiments. Prof. Wilson was a founding member of DUNE and is Deputy Spokesperson of the ICARUS collaboration, which has recently completed its first beam data commissioning run at Fermilab. His research currently focuses on photon detectors for DUNE, neutrino oscillation measurements, physics beyond the Standard Model with Liquid Argon detectors.

Position Summary

Prof. Wilson's High-Energy Physics group in the Department of Physics at Colorado State University seeks applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in experimental neutrino physics. The position initially will focus on studies of the use of novel photon detectors in the Horizontal Drift and Vertical Drift modules for Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) followed by operation and analysis of data collected by the Fermilab Short-Baseline Neutrino (SBN) program, with an emphasis on the ICARUS detector. The successful candidate is expected to be based at Fermi National Accelerator Center in Batavia, Illinois and will involve travel for collaboration meetings and conferences. Extended periods at Colorado State University (Fort Collins) and/or CERN (Switzerland) may be necessary.

Required Job Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in physics or a related field and have research experience in experimental nuclear or high-energy physics.

Preferred Job Qualifications

Programming experience (C++ or other object-oriented languages) and experience with the analysis of high-energy physics experimental data would be an asset.
