Position Summary

The University at Buffalo's Department of Psychiatry is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to work as part of a team to help elucidate the genetic and transcriptomic underpinnings of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder in ancestrally diverse populations.

Specifically, the postdoc will:

  • perform various types of next generation sequencing analysis on whole- exome sequencing, whole-genome sequencing, RNA-Seq, ChIP-seq and other high-throughput data
  • be expected to work and learn independently as needed
  • oversee the work of students in the lab

    Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in bioinformatics, genetics, biomedical sciences, or related field.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in statistical genetics and/or bioinformatics.
  • Proficiency in R, Python, and/or SQL.
  • Physical Demands Salary Range $45,000 - $55,000 Work Hours

    37.5 hours per week
