A full-time postdoctoral position is available to study immuno-engineering and
develop novel, biomaterial-based immunotherapeutics is available in the
laboratory of Dr. Jamal Lewis (https: // www. bme.ufl.edu/uf-bme-alum-dr-jamal-
lewis-joins-the-department-as-a-faculty-member/). This position is for an
initial one-year appointment, and has the potential to be renewed for an
additional year based on performance and funding availability. The successful
candidate will work on multidisciplinary projects aimed at generating
microparticles for autoimmune disease and cancer immunotherapy. For this
highly collaborative position, the successful applicant will be expected to
work closely with other faculty in the Biomedical Engineering department, and
researchers at UF College of Medicine and the UF College of Arts and Sciences.

the art building that is located in the medical school and steps from

The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering,
Biomedical engineering or a related field with demonstrated expertise working
in polymer science, biomaterials, analytical chemistry, and a strong
background in liquid chromatography. Qualified applicants must have experience
working successfully in a team setting, possess excellent written and oral
communication skills, and a strong publication record. Preference will be
given to applicants with demonstrated expertise using various biomedical
imaging modalities, small animal procedures, and those who have a strong track
record as graduate students of engineering, materials science, polymer
chemistry and/or biological research as evidenced by their published work.
Minimum Qualifications: The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in
Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical engineering or a related field
with demonstrated expertise working in polymer science, biomaterials,
analytical chemistry, and a strong background in liquid chromatography.
