Title Postdoctoral Appointee

Specific Title Appointment Type Postdoctoral Fellow Department IUSM - Obstetrics & Gynecology Campus IU School of Medicine Indianapolis Position Summary

The high mortality rate correlated with ovarian cancer progression is directly linked to the difficulty diagnosing the disease at early-stage and the nearly universal development of chemo-resistance. To guide conceptual innovation and future therapeutic interventions at the Dr. Condello laboratory, located in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Indiana University School of Medicine, we are developing cutting-edge technologies to identify molecular mechanisms that enable ovarian cancer to acquire resistance to traditional chemotherapies. The ideal candidate will participate in DOD-funded translation research projects to identify novel intervention targets and to deepen our understanding of anti-cancer programs under development. We value a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and mutual respect.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled scientist in tumor-host communication with experience in in vitro 3D modeling of cancer, stem cell biology, molecular biology, and mouse tumor models. This is an exciting opportunity to apply cutting-edge methods and contribute to the development of novel target therapeutics in the nation's largest medical school. Experience in bioinformatics is a plus.

As the nation's largest medical school, Indiana University School of Medicine is committed to being an institution that not only reflects the diversity of the learners we teach and the patient populations we serve, but also pursues the values of diversity, equity and inclusion that inform academic excellence. We desire candidates who enhance our representational diversity, as well as those whose work contributes to equitable and inclusive learning and working environments for our students, staff, and faculty. IUSM strives to take an anti-racist stance, regularly evaluating and updating its policies, procedures, and practices to confer equitable opportunities for contribution and advancement for all members of our community. We invite individuals who will join us in our mission to advance racial equity to transform health and wellbeing for all throughout the state of Indiana.
