About School of Nursing & Midwifery

Educating future leaders in healthcare delivery and related research is at the core of the School's mission. The key goal is to empower nurses and midwives to be able to demonstrate the difference that they make to practice, and in doing so, to be able to respond accordingly to the leadership and professional challenges that they face every day. The school is committed to providing students with outcome-focused curricula and with developing professionalism, shaped by innovative teaching and learning practices.

The School of Nursing and Midwifery through the Skin Wounds and Trauma (SWaT) Research Centre, is committed to executing cutting edge clinically focused wound care research with a key strategic goal of research being disseminated in high impact nursing and health care journals. The post holder will be a key resource in the ongoing research activity in the School.

Specifically, the duties of the post are:

• Complete assigned research project tasks related to ongoing and upcoming projects

• Management and coordination of clinical studies

• Conduct literature and systematic reviews

• Manuscript preparation, completion and submission for publication

• Engage in on-going dissemination activities

• Teach on the wounds and other programmes

• Develop a professional development plan for the duration of their appointment

• Undergoing programmes of training and development as may be required from time to time

• Representing the best interests of the School and RCSI at all times.

• Performing such other duties as may be required from time to time
