Job description

We are looking for a postdoc who has experience with or interest in hiv prevention research.

Specifically, we are looking for a postdoc who will conduct a large-scale, multi-country survey on innovative hiv prevention approaches among key populations in European contexts. Preferably, the candidate has the skills and interest to deal with big data sets and associated analytical approaches.

The postdoc will be expected to also contribute to the teaching of our section. We contribute to the bachelor's programs of Psychology and of Global Studies, and the master's programs Health and Social Psychology, and Human Decision Science.

Requirements
  • A PhD in psychology, public health, epidemiology, or a related discipline, ideally with a focus on hiv.
  • An interest in developing an own innovative research agenda based on and independent of the survey project.
  • Good project management skills to coordinate several multi-country partners.
  • Good communicative and networking skills reflecting the ability to engage and collaborate with academic and community partners.
  • Very good conversational and writing language skills in English. Dutch language skills are helpful. Speaking/writing other major European languages is beneficial.
  • A promising publication track record and documented or ambitions to attract own funding.

    Conditions of employment

    The position (1.0 FTE) is temporary for the duration of 24 months.

    Depending on experience and qualification, the maximum gross monthly salary is € 4.670 (on a full-time basis) in accordance with scale 10 of the Dutch university collective bargaining agreement. An 8% holiday and an 8.3% year-end allowance is also provided.

    In addition to good primary employment conditions, UM also offers an attractive package of secondary employment conditions.
