Postdoc Positions | Cell and tissue dynamics

MAX-PLANCK GESELLSCHAFT

Germany

February 5, 2022

Description

The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine in Münster, Germany, has openings for Postdoc-positions (position code 05-2022) in the new department of Professor Sara Wickström (Department of Cell and Tissue Dynamics).

Our research aims to uncover how mammalian tissues are formed, maintained, and regenerated through mechanochemical signaling and cellular interactions. Uncovering these regulatory principles will facilitate the development of regenerative therapies and more effective diagnostics and treatments against cancers. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and highly interdisciplinary research team in the analysis of stem cell regulation in tissue morphogenesis, maintenance and cancer. We pursue our research questions through a highly interdisciplinary research strategy that builds on mouse genetics and human patient material, combining scale-bridging tools of bioengineering and biophysics, machine learning-based quantitative imaging, genome-wide analyses, and computational modeling.

Your profile

We are looking for a qualified and highly motivated Postdoc (m/f/d) with a great interest in stem cell mechanobiology. The applicant (m/f/d) is required to hold PhD in biology, genetics, bioengineering, biochemistry, or a related field, as well as strong written and oral communication skills. The working language in the lab is English; no prior knowledge of German is necessary. Experience in cell biology and imaging are required, experience in computational data analysis and next generation sequencing is an advantage.

Our offer
  • temporary employment of two years with the option of a longer-term cooperation according to the Collective Agreement for the public sector (TVöD)
  • salary is in accordance with pay group 13 of the TVöD
