Postdoc position in Innovation Studies and Data Science
At The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH), Aalborg University
Business School, a full-time position as Postdoc in Innovation Studies and
Data Science is open for appointment from 1. May or soon thereafter. The
appointment is available for a period of 3 years. Workplace is in Aalborg.
Aalborg University Business School (AAUBS) is looking for a postdoc who can
proactively contribute to the AI Denmark project (https: // aidenmark.dk) as
well as to applied data science teaching, for instance at the Social Data
Science specialization (https: // sds.aau.dk).
The appointee will be joining a team of researchers - at AAUBS and from other
AI Denmark project partners - to contribute to research based on the AI
Denmark project cases as well as develop related research initiatives at
The appointee will also become part of the IKE (Innovation Knowledge and
Economic Dynamics) research group and the AI Growth Lab at AAUBS.
The position is part of the development strategy of AAUBS. The appointee is
expected to contribute to the research and teaching activities with a specific
focus on programmes and modules with data science elements. Preference will be
given to candidates with research interests in business economics in general,
and in particular innovation management, innovation economics and industrial
Regarding teaching, the position is targeted at quantitative method and
applied data science teaching. Recently, data science and business analytics
methods (and platforms) have become more prominent parts of the business
economics education at AAUBS, for instance within statistics, mathematics and
applied quantitative methods courses.
Candidates must have scientific qualifications at PhD level within fields
relevant for business economics. In the selection of candidates, emphasis will
be placed on research potential in relation to innovation studies and
industrial dynamics, in addition to pedagogical qualifications and experience
with supervision and lectures. To a limited extent other tasks may occur in

(statistic and econometric analysis) as well as data science methods
including handling of large datasets, machine learning and data visualisation
using Python or R.
Preference will be given to candidates with a record in teaching and
supervision of BSc and MSc projects. Academics with experience in Problem-
Based Learning (PBL) are strongly encouraged to apply. Ability to teach in
both English and Danish is preferred.

An expert assessment committee will assess all candidates.
Shortlisting will be applied. This means that subsequent to the deadline for
applications the head of department supported by the chair of the assessment
committee will select candidates for assessment. All applicants will be

informed of the composition of the assessment committee, and each applicant
will have the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that
applies to the applicant in question. When the employment process has been
