Offer DescriptionPresentation of research and teaching centers at IMT Mines Alès:
IMT Mines Alès has 6 research units, including 4 UMR (Unité Mixte de Recherche) and 2 UPR (Unité Propre de Recherche) of IMT Mines Alès working in the fields of materials and civil engineering ( C2MA center), environment and risks ( CREER center), artificial intelligence and systems engineering ( CERIS center). The 6 research units are UPR PCH, UPR LSR, UMR UM-IMT EUROMOV-DHM, UMR CNRS-UM-IRD HSM, UMR CNRS-UPPA (RIME team), UMR CNRS-UM LMGC (DMS team). Some key figures for 2021, the centers brought together 93 permanent teacher- researchers (including 48 HDRs), 25 technical staff, and 112 doctoral students (IMT Mines Alès is authorized to award doctorates via 5 co- accredited doctoral schools), who produced 183 A-rank publications and €3.4M in research contracts (1/3 of which were direct contracts with companies). The centers are also supported by 12 technology platforms, the MINES Carnot Institute, and a rigorous ISO-9001-certified organization. Our day-to-day challenge is to "advance science and its applications, maintain a high level of expertise to train our students to the highest standards, and contribute to the transfer of knowledge to business and society". This raison d'être explains the strong link between research, teaching and economic development at IMT Mines Alès, as well as the notion of social responsibility.
The centers perform 3 complementary functions within the school: research , training and economic development (including technology transfer). To this end, each center has 3 types of structure: research teams, teaching departments and technology platforms.
CERIS presentation:
The person recruited will be assigned to the Center for Teaching and Research in Computer Science and Systems ( CERIS ). CERIS comprises two research teams, 2 teaching departments and technology platforms. The successful candidate will join the Computer Science, Image and Artificial Intelligence ( I3A ) team at CERIS, which has merged with the European Research Center for Human Movement at the University of Montpellier to create the EuroMov Digital Health in Motion ( EDHM) Joint Research Unit in January 2021. The research carried out at EDHM aims to better understand the etiology of human movement, considered as the level of integration of biological and cognitive phenomena, during our ongoing informational exchanges with the environment.
The unit has three main themes: the first focuses on the laws governing human perception in motion and human-environment synchronization. The second is to provide personalized, context-sensitive computerized support for people undergoing medical treatment or physical trainers in order to improve their behavior for the purposes of health , quality of life or sports performance by developing software engineering. The third concerns a better understanding of learning and complexity in intelligent agents, whether human or machine, through the motor signatures of health , clinical data and neural activity , by developing interpretable models. The ultimate aim is to define a theory of semantics based on movement.
Job Description:
Musculoskeletal disorders ( MSDs ) currently account for 87% of work- related illnesses and are particularly prevalent in 7 sectors: transport and logistics, retail, agri-food, construction and public works, cleaning, metalworking and personal care (source ameli.fr). Reducing MSDs in the workplace requires a complete assessment of a workstation, considering the human factor.
As part of the Carnot Mines-funded OPERGO-TMS project, several research teams are combining their skills to propose a decision-making methodology for reducing workstation arduousness. The project is divided into three phases:
The person recruited will participate in the second phase of the project and will be responsible for:
The person recruited will work closely with the consortium partners and participate in the publication of the project's scientific contributions.
Assignments will be carried out on the Louis Leprince Ringuet Campus of Mines Alès (30) or on the Georges Charpak Provence Campus in Gardanne (13) of Mines Saint-Etienne.
