Job Description

Dr George Veletsianos, Dr. Jaigris Hodson, Dr. Kaitlynn Mendes, and Dr. Chandell Gosse are seeking a post-doctoral researcher to contribute to their research on tackling gender-based technology-facilitated violence and abuse: reimagining a gender-equitable world.

This is a remote position and the postdoctoral researcher will join this team of four senior researchers distributed across Canada to execute a research plan designed to develop a greater understanding of men's conceptualization of technology-facilitated violence and online bystander intervention.

Job Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in an area relevant to the topic of the research project
  • Research experience relevant to the topic of the research project
  • A scholarly publication record that relates to the topic
  • Familiarity and experience with:
  • survey design;
  • conducting 1-1 interviews and focus groups; and
  • orientation toward feminist theory and social justice
  • An ideal candidate would also possess:

  • Demonstrated success working remotely
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders on complex research projects
  • Collaborative mindset
  • Project management experience
  • Self-motivated

    This is a temporary, part-time position for an initial term of one year, with the possibility of extending for up to three years. To accommodate other responsibilities applicants may have in their life, we are able to offer between 22.5 (0.6 FTE) and 28 (.75 FTE) hrs/week. Please state your preference in the cover letter. This position has been evaluated at a researcher rate with a salary range of $48,000 (minimum) to $56,250 (maximum). The incumbent may work remotely and does not need to be based in Victoria.
