Offer Description

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on the ANR-JCJC RESSAC project. This project aims to investigate the emergence of the sense of agency during infancy, and its role for learning intentional vocal communication. The post-doc will be involved in setting up the studies planned as part of this project, collecting and analyzing data, and writing articles and disseminating the results of these studies.

Activity 1: Designing the experiment with the PI and implementing the studies planned as part of this project, collecting data. Techniques involved: audio (babbling) and electroencephalographic recordings in the laboratory, and recordings of proto-conversations between infants and their parents in the laboratory and at home.

Activity 2: data analysis (acoustic and electroencephalographic data).

Activity 3: dissemination of research results (writing articles, conferences, disseminating research to the public and early childhood professionals).

The person recruited will have the opportunity to co-supervise Masters students (M/F) with the help of the project coordinator.

The Laboratoire de Psychologie et Neurocognition, LPNC, is a UMR (5105) affiliated with the CNRS (CNRS Biology and CNRS Human and Social Sciences) and two universities, the Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) and the Université Savoie Mont-Blanc. Our laboratory conducts multidisciplinary research in "Cognitive Sciences", thanks to a combined and complementary approach to disciplines belonging to the fields of human and social sciences (psychology, linguistics, neuropsychology), engineering sciences applied to cognition (mathematics, modeling and signal processing) and life sciences (neurosciences, medical sciences, neuroimaging). The LPNC's research activities focuses on the study of human cognition in the fields of perception, action, space, memory and language. Research will be conducted mainly at the LPNC, which includes a babylab welcoming an average of 400 infants per year. The post-doc will work closely with Louise Goupil, coordinator of the ANR-JCJC RESSAC project on the meaning of agency and its role in learning communication during the first year of life. The candidate (M/F) will join the Development & Learning team.
