Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Urban Planning and Design , to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in human geography, urban studies/planning or a related discipline. Applicants are expected to demonstrate potential for publication in leading academic journals (ideally with a proven track record). They should also have good command of qualitative research methods, academic writing abilities and English. Fluency in Cantonese and research experience in conservation (cultural and/or natural), urban planning and sustainable development will be an advantage.

The appointee will work with the Principal Investigator in conducting a research project on the role of conservation in sustainable urban development, with a focus on Hong Kong. Major duties include all aspects of the research process, in particular, on conducting interviews, literature review, qualitative analysis, manuscript preparation, and some knowledge exchange activities. He/she is expected to have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
