Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (holding
the title of Research Manager) (several posts) in the Faculty of Social
Sciences (Ref.: 509013), to commence as soon as possible for two years,
with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Public Health, Psychology, Social
Work, Gerontology, Nursing, Counseling, Behavioral Health, Mental Health,
Health Economics or a related discipline; excellent written and spoken skills
in English and Chinese (including Cantonese). Experience in undertaking
research related to end-of-life care (EoLC) would be an advantage.
The appointees will work in the Jockey Club End-of-Life Community Care Project
(JCECC) under the Faculty of Social Sciences. The Project, started in 2016,
aimed at developing and evaluating an innovative community end-of-life care
model which ultimately improves the quality of life of patients and families
touched by terminal illness. Details of the Project could be found at

The appointees are expected to involve in a research team working on cutting-
edge research and evaluation studies in end-of-life care, and supervise junior
research staff. They will also be engaged in training for healthcare and
social care professionals as tutor/facilitator; and perform other duties as
assigned. These positions will expose the appointees to both academic research
and teaching in the multi-disciplinary EoLC team.
