Description

  • Organisation/Company: CNRS
  • Research Field: Biological sciences › Botany Technology › Biotechnology
  • Researcher Profile: Recognised Researcher (R2)
  • Application Deadline: 10/11/2021 23:59 - Europe/Brussels
  • Location: France › STRASBOURG
  • Type Of Contract: Temporary
  • Job Status: Full-time
  • Hours Per Week: 35
  • Offer Starting Date: 01/02/2022
  • This position will include: - the creation and analysis of crosses between different cell markers and different Arabidopsis mutants. - the functional study and the microscopic analysis of these crosses, in particular by quantitative approaches of immunocytology in confocal microscopy combined with the application of mechanical stress in microfluidics for real- time imaging. - the co-purification and identification of protein partners of key components of the nuclear envelope and the study of the corresponding genetic interactions. - different omics approaches (e.g., NGS).

We are looking for an enthusiastic post-doctoral researcher to participate in an interdisciplinary research program at the interface between cell biology, biophysics and modeling of biological systems. This project funded by the ANR is built on a collaborative network between the IBMP in Strasbourg, the University of Paris Diderot (LMSC), the INRAE of Versailles (IJPB) and the ENS in Lyon (RDP) and aims to explore the impact of mechanical stress on cell fate in plants. The post-doctoral fellow will be part of the "Stress signaling to the nucleus" team and will be in charge of analyzing mechanotransduction toward the nucleus, by integrating cytoskeleton and chromatin dynamics in connection with the regulation of gene expression and the acquisition of a cell identity.

The research will be carried out at the Institute of Molecular Biology of Plants (IBMP), a CNRS research unit in Strasbourg. This internationally renowned unit, made up of more than 100 researchers, is located on the University campus and has state-of-the-art equipment in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry and microscopy. The person will be recruited into the team 'Stress Signaling to the nucleus (https:// www. ibmp.cnrs.fr/equipes/signalisation-des-stress-au-noyau/) which has 3 researchers, 1 doctoral student, 1 post -doctoral fellow, 1 technician and 1 assistant engineer and will be supervised by rof ME Chabouté and A. Berr.

In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to interact with the various partners involved in this project and will also benefit from the latest advances in our plant microfluidics tools.

    Eligibility criteria

The candidate must have obtained her/his doctorate in biology for less than two years and must have a good training in plant molecular and cell biology, as well as skills in microscopy (especially confocal microscopy) and in treatment/analysis of images. Previous experience in immunohistochemistry will be a plus. Other essential criteria for this position are strong motivation and autonomy, team spirit, thinking skills and fluency in reading, writing and speaking English (level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference).

    Additional comments

Post-doctoral contract financed by ANR which will be renewed each year. Beginning of the contract February 2022. Candidates must provide a CV, a cover letter including scientific interests, as well as the contacts of two to three referents.
