The Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy (POP) and the Center
for Drug Evaluation and Safety (CoDES) at the University of Florida seek
candidates for a post-doctoral position in clinical and pharmaceutical
applications of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Artificial
Intelligence (AI). Candidates will have PhD level training in health
sciences, clinical informatics, computer science, engineering, or related
disciplines, with knowledge of deep learning models and tools for NLP and AI.
Candidates will work on developing novel NLP methodology on clinical text data
and Electronic Health Records, to answer important questions about clinical
and pharmaceutical outcomes.
The successful candidate will support POP and CoDES AI core activities,
including ongoing research projects, and work on grant applications to prepare
for an independent research career. They will join our large group of trainees
in POP at the University of Florida, the flagship academic research
institution of the State of Florida. POP and CoDES are housed on the UF Health
Science Campus in Gainesville, forming with all Health colleges and UF Health
Hospital, the largest academic health center in the Southeast.
The successful candidate will also support the University of Florida's vision

supercomputer in higher education in the world, which will elevate the
university's reach and impact in research, teaching, and economic development.

Doctoral Degree in health sciences, clinical informatics, computer science,
engineering, or related disciplines with knowledge of deep learning methods
Research or training background in pharmacy or related clinical fields is
preferred but not required.
