Offer Description

Contexte

Since twenty years, GREMI Laboratory (https: // www. univ-orleans.fr/fr/gremi) has developed an expertise in the plasma-synthesis of nanomaterials for hydrogen economy. Since 2023, GREMI laboratory is partner in the hydrogen PEPR project entitled BHyoLOHC, which aims to develop a hydrogen storage media based on biosourced organic liquid (Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier). The loading and unloading cycles are carried out by means of hydrogenation and dehydrogenation reactions which requires the use of catalysts and electro- catalysts in the form of nanoparticles dispersed on a high surface area support. The use of such biosourced liquids is a new approach to increasing the ecological viability and the social and industrial acceptability of the storage and transport of hydrogen.

Summary of the work program

The recruited person will have to synthesize bi- and tri-metallic nanoparticles based on platinum and palladium by magnetron sputtering on a liquid substrate (sputtering onto liquid, SoL). This physical synthesis (plasma) allows to simply obtain a dispersion of nanomaterials in a liquid without the use of solvents. The properties of the gas phase, plasma-liquid and plasma-target interactions will be studied by mass spectrometry, optical spectroscopy, energy transfer and electrostatic probes as a function of process parameters such as sputtering regime (DC, DC-pulsed or HiPIMS). The morphology, composition and structural properties of the materials will be studied by microscopy and X-ray diffraction/scattering. The nanoparticles will have to be impregnated into porous supports based on carbon and alumina.

Send your full application package with CV (including the references to your 5 most important and relevant publications), reference letters, PhD evaluation, copy of passport (part of the hiring process).
