  • Data collection of functional neuroimaging data before and after short-term (2h) monocular deprivation. Analysis of the functional neuroimaging datasets.

    Recent evidence shows that, in adult humans, short-term monocular deprivation induces a counterintuitive shift of ocular dominance in favor of the deprived eye. This indicates that the adult visual cortex retains a degree of homeostatic plasticity higher than previously thought. The neural mechanisms underlying this form of homeostatic ocular dominance plasticity in adulthood are still unclear. The aim of the proposed project is to investigate the impact of short-term monocular deprivation on visual cortical activity at the level of ocular dominance columns in the adult primary visual cortex using functional brain imaging.

    The post-doc researcher will work under the supervision of Dr. Claudia Lunghi at the Laboratoire des Systèmes Perceptifs (LSP, UMR 8248, Département d'Etudes Cognitives, Ecole normale supérieure, Paris), in the framework of the project HOPLA, funded by the ERC.

    Eligibility criteria

    PhD in neurosciences or equivalent. Expertise with functional neuroimaging. Experience in analyzing neuroimaging datasets.
