Main mission :

Study and development of an infrared photoacoustic sensor based on QEPAS spectroscopy and dedicated to the detection of biomarkers
of medical interest in the exhaled air, for the diagnosis and monitoring of patients with cardiac or respiratory failure.

Activities :

4 biomarkers were selected for their demonstrated significance in these pathologies: CO, NO, acetone and isoprene. A
demonstrator has been under development at the IES since 2020 as part of the MUSE SENSIR project.
of exhaled air is a crucial point for the sensitivity and reliability of the measurements taken.
This standardization requires a very specific methodology which gives access to the respiratory compartments, but it is sensitive to
external conditions.
Skills / Qualifications

Skills / Qualifications:

The POST MEDICPAS project will focus in part on this standardization of samples.
This will involve developing the extraction of the sample, then performing the calibrated QEPAS measurement of the 4 gaseous species by spectroscopy
photoacoustics, on patients with heart failure.
Skills in laser spectroscopy / electronics / acoustics / modeling / experimental characterization
