  • To strengthen our excellent research team, which is focused on the development and research of innovative approaches for the treatment of childhood cancer, we are looking for a Post Doc (f/m/d) – 3D modelling of childhood tumours. In this responsible role, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary competence center for pediatric oncology and to have a direct influence on the development of new cancer therapies.

    The Tomazou group (https: // www. seeks to recruit a Post- doctoral fellow who will take on a highly ambitious research project aiming to accelerate drug discovery and molecular precision medicine for paediatric tumours (Sheffield NC., Nature Medicine 2017; Peneder P., Nature Communications 2021; Terlecki-Zaniewicz S., Nature Structural & Molecular Biology 2021). By exploiting recent technological advancements in stem cell biology, CRISPR screening and single-cell analysis we will pursue a “build it to understand it” approach and construct in vitro and in vivo tumor models starting from human pluripotent stem cells and tumor tissue.

  • Your profile

  • PhD degree in a relevant subject (eg molecular biology, developmental biology, cancer, immunology)
  • High accuracy, reliability, precision under time pressure, and organizational skills
  • Excellent technical skills in molecular biology; experience working with pluripotent stem cells and organoids is a plus
  • Motivation and commitment to pursue an ambitious research agenda, proactive mind-set, getting-things-done attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (German not required)
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and eager to learn
  • Good team player, commitment, and creativity
  • Scientific mindset, problem solving attitude
  • At least one first author paper in a peer reviewed journal
