Position Summary
This is a hybrid position. Once trained, may work remotely up to two days a week.
The Post-Award Grant Administrator works closely with UCA faculty and staff in the maintenance, analysis, interpretation, and management of financial accounting data for external funding from grants, contracts, sub-awards, and other agreements. With attention to detail and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement, the Post-Award Administrator ensures that external funding is governed by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), state and federal laws, and institutional policies
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Post-Award Grant Administrator is responsible for collaborating with UCA faculty, staff, and students in the financial management of external funding. Must have the ability to develop relationships and manage multiple long-term, large-scale projects with multiple deadlines. The Post-Award Grant Administrator maintains expertise in the field, including the mastery of federal and non-federal guidance and portals (Cayuse, Grants.gov, Research.gov, etc.), through continuous monitoring. They work closely with Pre-Award Grant Administrators, purchasing, human resources, and academic departments. The Post-Award Grant Administrator collaborates with their colleagues in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs to develop effective communication and training materials about university policies and procedures, research, and grants for the UCA community, including in-person training, newsletters, webinars, and videos.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting and GAAP. Knowledge of financial statements and reports. Knowledge of accounting ledgers and journals. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer technology related to accounting systems. Ability to develop and maintain manual or computerized accounting systems. Ability to interpret and apply provisions of laws, rules, or policies to specific situations. Ability to review and analyze financial information. Ability to analyze data and prepare financial statements and reports. Ability to maintain routine accounting data in appropriate ledgers and journals. Ability to provide guidance and technical assistance to agency/institution management and staff.

Required Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or three years of experience in financial grants management
Preferred Education and/or Experience
Previous experience with Grant Accounting or Banner Finance System.
