Context: Specialist in automation of industrial production lines, the
company ASPI of the SIT group wishes to offer its customers innovative
solutions aimed at significantly reducing their energy consumption. In order
to achieve this objective, it conducts joint research with Institute for
Research in Embedded Electronic Systems (IRSEEM) on new approaches in
control systems up to application on industrial sites. The work carried out so
far has notably led to the development of an original multi-objective adaptive
predictive control for controlling a pilot distillation unit (thesis by Ms.
Marwa Ben Ticha).
Objective: The selected candidate will explore the path of deep learning
methods with the aim of determining the optimal combination of automatic
controller parameters (PID type at first then predictive in a second time).
These two controllers will be successively applied to the control of an
industrial system whose energy efficiency is strongly impacted by a fouling
phenomenon posing a problem. The candidate will be able to rely on the
simulation and material resources present within the two partners.
The selected candidate will be employed by ASPI company and will prepare
his/her PhD thesis as a student of "Normandy University".
