Subject description Research in Entrepreneurship and Innovation comprises organizational development with a specific emphasis on firm development based on innovative products, services, production solutions or management modes.
Project description We are recruiting a PhD candidate who will conduct research related to the research center Sustainable Finance Lab. The center was founded by a consortium of six universities and research institutes in Sweden which generates, groundbreaking research in close collaboration with national and international financial market actors. Within the center consortium a broad network of academic and industrial partners come together, to undertake research and practice necessary for social and environmental sustainability transformation of financial markets.
The project specifically contributes to the research domain that focuses financing of entrepreneurship for developing competitiveness and innovation. Development of models and principles for efficient allocation of financing requires an understanding of financiers' processes and decision-making, and consequences of such decision-making. The project specifically contributes with a gender perspective in the research field of entrepreneurial financing. The research area may also include social sustainability, inclusion, and diversity in financing entrepreneurship. The Ph.D. candidate will contribute to generate new knowledge of how models for inclusion, diversity, and gender may work.
Relevant research topics includes, but are not limited to, the following examples:
- Financing of entrepreneurial ventures from a gender perspective - Investment models for inclusion, diversity, and gender in entrepreneurship - FinTech market solutions from a gender perspective
Qualifications The general entry requirements for doctoral (third-cycle) studies are as follows: a completed degree at the Master's (second-cycle) level with completed course requirements of at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 second-cycle credits. Alternatively, equivalent knowledge has been acquired in some other way within or outside the country. In addition to the general entry requirements, knowledge of business administration or in industrial engineering and management or equivalent subject is required.
You should be strongly motivated for doctoral studies and have good collaboration and communication skills. It is important that you can express yourself orally and in writing in English. It is an advantage, but not crucial, if you can work with Swedish data and express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish.

Information Employment as a PhD student is limited to 4 years, teaching and other department duties may be added with max 20%, which means that the period of employment may extend to the same extent. Salary is paid in accordance with current agreements. The position is at the Department of Social Sciences, Technology and Arts at the university's campus in Luleå.
