Your Role...

The successful PhD candidate will work in the field of halide organic/inorganic perovskites. This material class is of extreme importance for the development of highly efficient and cheap single and multi-junction solar cells. The project consists of synthesizing low dimensional perovskites via multistage evaporation and to study these materials on the atomic scale with scanning probe microscopy methods , such as scanning tunneling spectroscopy and Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy. The work will be carried out under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Alex Redinger.

What we expect from you…
  • Master in Physics (or equivalent) with very good grades
  • Very good knowledge in solid state physics, semiconductors, solar cells and surface science is expected
  • Candidates should have excellent problem-solving skills
  • Very good written and oral communication skills in English are expected
  • Creative and able to think independently

  • Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract 36 Months (extendable up to 48 months if required)
  • Work Hours: Full Time 40.0 Hours per Week
  • Location: Campus Limpertsberg / Luxembourg City
  • Expected start of the thesis: As soon as possible

  • The yearly gross salary for every PhD student is approximately 38k€ (full time)
