The VINNOVA-funded project “iSecure: Developing Predictable and Secure IoT for Autonomous Systems” is announcing a PhD position in industrial IoT systems with the focus on developing solutions for supporting predictable and secured communications among IoT devices. The goal of the project is to design secure digital platforms leveraging the edge, fog and cloud computing for enhancing development, production and support. The current digital platform architectures for IoT lack timing guarantees for short latency data communication among IoT devices. On the other hand, they lack proper mechanisms for data privacy and security. iSecure has ambitions to overcome such limitations at the end of the project, that will run for 3 years. The project is a strong collaboration among Mälardalen University, Senseair, Addiva, and CanaryBit.Qualifications
Only those who are or have been admitted to third-cycle courses and study programmes at a higher education may be appointed to doctoral studentships. For futher information see Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 1993:100).
To qualify as a PhD student for this project, you should have a master's level degree in computer science, computer engineering, or software engineering. Strong knowledge of computer networks, industrial communication systems, and software engineering is essential. Moreover, prior knowledge about embedded systems, real-time systems, and real-time networks are needed. The position requires a strong motivation for research, good verbal and written communication skills in English.Merit
It is a merit if you have a background in IoT systems, programming in C and Matlab, and embedded systems.
