The Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy in Munich is
offering several PhD Positions (m/f/d) in Health Law – Digitalisation
We are looking to hire several PhD students in the field of “Health Law –
Digitalisation and Innovation”. Potential topics include the legal regulation
of digital health devices, data protection and cybersecurity in healthcare,
biomedical innovation, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and
personalised medicine. Comparative, transnational, and legal-historical
approaches to this field are particularly welcome. The start date is 1st
September 2021, or as soon as possible thereafter. The positions are a fixed-
term appointment for three years.
Applicants are expected to hold an excellent degree in law that meets the
doctoral admission requirements of the Law Faculty at Ludwig Maximilian
University Munich (“first class” or “high upper second class”). Prior
experience in the field of health law, law and digitalisation, and/or
comparative law will be considered an advantage. Full proficiency in English
is expected, and additional languages skills are desirable.
We offer attractive working conditions in a modern, well-equipped institute
with a global network. Our institute holds the world's largest social law
library and is located close to LMU Munich, as well as the Bavarian State
Library. Doctoral students are paid and receive social benefits in accordance
with the German Civil Service Collective Agreement (TVöD). The annual salary
before tax amounts to approx. EUR 33,000 (EG13 band 1, 65%).
