Subjects Physics Description Very high resolution photoelectron spectroscopy on size- selected deeply cold metal clusters
In this DFG-funded project a recently developed very high resolution magnetic bottle photoelectron spectrometer will be used for photoelectron spectroscopy on deeply cold size-selected metal clusters, using isomer-selective techniques to measure isomer-dependent electronic structures and, for smaller clusters, vibrational frequencies. Of additional interest is a search for finite size precursors of low temperature quantum effects like the Kondo effect or superconductivity.
