    We are offering a

    PhD Position in Chemical Reaction Engineering

    Your Job: The avoidance of fossil raw materials requires alternative process routes for the production of fuels and basic chemicals in the future. Biomass represents an attractive renewable raw material source for this. You will be part of a project that deals with the production of fuels, fuel additives, and basic chemicals from biomass derivatives. Your tasks will include:

    - Analysis and evaluation of attractive process routes for the conversion of biomass-derived methyl formate - Preparation, characterisation, and testing of catalysts for the conversion of methyl formate to different value products - Reaction engineering study for the conversion of biomass-derived methyl formate to various base chemicals and fuels - Supervision of students Participation in project meetings - Coordination with internal and external partners - Publication and presentation of research results in relevant journals and at national and international conferences

    Your Profile: - Excellent master's degree in chemistry, process engineering, reaction engineering, or a similar discipline - Strong interest in reaction engineering Working experiences in a chemical laboratory, preferably working with a lab- scale reaction plant - High motivation for pursuing a PhD within three years - Excellent organizational skills - Ability to show initiative and work independently - Excellent cooperation and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team - Excellent skills in spoken and written English
