The Pharmacy Technician Program - Part-Time Instructor will be responsible for
providing instructional support to ensure students meet the established
learning objectives and supporting the growth and development of the program
to comply with industry standards and the needs of the community.
The instructor is responsible for assisting in the delivery of specified
course content and ensuring students master the program and course learning
objectives. The instructor will provide one-on-one instructional support to
include responses to student's inbound academic inquiries using distance
education technologies, including phone, email, ticket messaging, and portal
messaging within 24-hours. The instructor will offer daily office hours for
tutoring via appointment scheduling and provide substantive feedback on
subjective exams and lab simulations. The instructor will assist students
identify their learning strengths and weaknesses and connect them with the
appropriate resources to master program content. The instructor will support
the creation of course materials as needed for ensuring students master the
program and course learning objectives.
The instructor will utilize program learning outcomes to monitor student
progress daily. The instructor will conduct outreach using distance education
technologies to provide academic advising and support to ensure student
learning and successful completion of the program.
The instructor will assist in the externship experience. This will include the
evaluation of clinical sites information, State BOP License, drug screen, and
background check and answer questions regarding the clinical skills and
supporting the externship preceptor and externship coordinator, if applicable.
The instructor will participate in curriculum design, including development
and revision, and in the development of any supplemental learning resources.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Must be a certified pharmacy technician (CPhT) and state registered.
Have a minimum of an associate degree
At least 3 years of work experience in a practice setting or area of
expertise related to the area of teaching.
Prefer classroom and or online teaching experience.
Will assist in obtaining a New York State D.O.E. Online Teacher License.
Must have excellent computer skills. Ability to work independently, think
critically, communicate effectively and efficiently, and enjoy being part
of a team. Have access to a computer with Microsoft Windows 10 and
understand Microsoft Office products.
