Currently seeking candidates to apply for the position of Pep Band Director at Valparaiso University Athletics.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Recruit Valpo students (current and incoming) to participate in the pep band
  • Oversee music selection, arrangements, staging, auditions, rehearsals, and the scheduling of events including home men's and women's basketball and football games
  • Travel with band to perform at conference basketball tournaments
  • Conduct and manage all facets of the pep band

    • Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Requirements: 1-2 years of experience directing band or instrumental ensembles at the college or high school level
  • Candidates must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse community of students, and athletics staff

    • Successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to cultural diversity and the ability to work with individuals or groups from diverse backgrounds.
