Position Summary Information

Objective

Peer Mentors will provide academic support and information about resources to other students.

High school graduate Currently enrolled Blinn College student or enrolled in Spring 2023 semester

This is a temporary position, ending August 31,2023.

This position is 100% grant funded, therefore, this position is not permanent and will be eliminated once the grant funding is spent, grant ends or the fiscal year ends, whichever comes first. Grant end date is August 31, 2023.

Principal Accountabilities

Principal Accountabilities

Attend classes or special trainings with students being mentored

Meet with a faculty/staff mentor and mentees, as needed

Conduct study sessions with mentees in the Library, Learning Center, or in eCampus

Attend Peer Mentor training sessions

Communicate with student mentees regarding academic matters if requested to do so by faculty/staff mentor
