East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Department of Pediatrics and Medical Education Assistance Corporation (MEAC), in conjunction with the Niswonger Children's Hospital seek a qualified Pediatric Hospitalist to join a dynamic team of 7 hospitalists who are active in quality improvement projects, research, and teaching of medical students and pediatric residents. This position will be an ETSU non-tenure, clinical track faculty appointment (contingent on MEAC funding). The candidate must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics at time of hire. Experience should include demonstrated skill in inpatient pediatrics, newborn nursery, and medical education. Experience in quality improvement is a plus.

Responsibilities include providing services at Niswonger Children's Hospital at the Johnson City Medical Center, the primary inpatient site for medical student and resident pediatric education for the ETSU Quillen College of Medicine, and other Ballad Hospitals. Niswonger Children's Hospital provides medical care to pediatric patients from a large geographic area including Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, Southern West Virginia, Eastern Kentucky and Western North Carolina.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Qualifications

The candidate must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics at time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated skill in inpatient pediatrics, newborn nursery, and medical education. Experience in quality improvement is a plus.

Salary Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Contingent on external funding.
