The Stead Family Department of Pediatrics is seeking to hire a pediatric health psychologist. Appointment rank is open and may be to either the tenure track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest. Appointment rank to Associate of Pediatrics (non-tenure track) may also be considered. The individual selected will join the Pediatric Psychology Program within the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. Clinic services provided within Pediatric Psychology include applied behavior analysis and treatment, neuropsychological assessment and brief therapy for health-related adjustment for a wide range of chronic health conditions. The selected individual will participate in the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents served through the University of Iowa Stead Family Pediatric Specialty Clinics, with opportunities to expand clinical services across divisions including in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Transplant, Hematology, Nephrology, Neurology, and/or Allergy and Immunology , depending on the selected individual's experience and interest. We are currently recruiting for two Pediatric Health Psychologists and one Pediatric Pain Psychologist. In addition, the Department seeks to expand inpatient consultation/liaison service for pediatric patients who are admitted for acute or chronic medical conditions. The position also includes supervision of psychology practicum students and postdoctoral fellows as available.

It is the only university-affiliated hospital in Iowa devoted solely to the care of infants, children, adolescents and young adults, and is Iowa's only accredited Level 1 Regional Resource Pediatric Trauma Center. In 2019-2020 University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital ranked in six pediatric specialties in the Best Children's Hospitals U.S. News and World Report, including neonatology, orthopedics, diabetes and endocrinology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, and is the only hospital in Iowa to be nationally ranked by U.S. News and World Report for children's care. A new 190-bed children's hospital opened in February 2017.

Education Requirement:
Must hold a PhD or PsyD degree in Psychology from an APA accredited doctoral program
Required Qualifications:
Successful completion of an APA accredited internship and postdoctoral residency
License or eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa
Health Service Provider or eligible for Health Service Provider in the State of Iowa
Experience treating children with chronic conditions and their families
Experience as a member of an interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team
Outpatient and inpatient experience in a hospital/medical center
Demonstrated commitment to promoting a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment
Desirable Qualifications:
Expertise in evidence-based intervention for youth with health conditions
Clinical experience in Pediatric Psychology in an academic medical setting
Demonstrated excellence in research and clinical care
Clinical teaching of students across a variety of disciplines
Evidence of scholarly activity
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
