Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate in medicinal inorganic chemistry, conducting research supervised by Dr Angelo Frei in the Department of Chemistry. The post holder will synthesise new metalloantibiotics and evaluate their biological properties. See recent Frei Lab publications for relevant background. The group is particularly interested in applying cutting edge technologies such as automation and machine learning to the discovery of new metalloantibiotics.

RoleThe position will suit a candidate with a background primarily in synthetic inorganic chemistry with additional expertise in medicinal chemistry and/or microbiology. Experience in cheminformatics and machine learning would also be beneficial but is not essential. The successful candidate will also be expected to provide expert guidance and training of researchers engaged in other projects in the Frei Lab, and to contribute to the writing and publishing of high-quality manuscripts and disseminating the research at conferences.
This role is available on a fixed term basis for one year
